eGaming held their third annual eGamings Review Award for online casinos held in London, Friday the 28th of September at the Natural History Museum. It seems the affair was a success to remember among champagne, glitter and shine, as well as awards to boot. Some notable prizes include Poker Operator of the Year, won by Everest Poker; Operator of the Year, won by Betfair; and European Sportsbook Operator of the Year, won by Sportingbet. Although it was a tight competition between PKR, Playersonly, Sky Poker, and Betfair, Sky Poker ended up winning the coveted Innovation of the Year due to their recent development of live online casino Poker via the internet or internet-activated televisions. The new product allows players to play with each other in real time, and combines the experience with the start of it’s own poker channel, with televised tournaments, also in real time. Richard Flint, acting as Managing Director and speaker for the receipt of the award was truly pleased that Sky Poker had achieved such recognition. “It’s great to receive recognition from the industry that we are leading the way in making it easier for customers to enjoy our products,” he said, “whilst simultaneously providing a richer experience.” There were multiple award winners as well: Sky Bet took out competition Betfair and Virgin Games by winning Green Operator of the Year, in response to their efforts and success in employing green policies across the industry. Individuals were also recognized: Mark Blandford of Sportingbet, was hailed for his involvement and commitment to the success of the industry of online gambling. He was also Chairman of this year’s judging panel, unrelated to the Outstanding Contribution Award he received that night. |
